Monroe County has three festivals scheduled this weekend — two in Bloomington and one in Ellettsville.

Bloomington Pridefest and the Black y Brown Arts Festival are scheduled Saturday, while the Monroe County Fall Festival began Thursday and ends Saturday. All three are free.

Bloomington’s 10th annual Pridefest

The city’s yearly LGBTQ  celebration starts at 2 p.m. Saturday on Kirkwood Avenue. Several hours of performances are scheduled.

More than a dozen drag performers, multiple musicians and two DJs will perform. Indianapolis drag queen Pat Yo Weave will host the performances.

There will be vendors selling goods, food and drinks. The Back Door will host a 21+ event at 9 p.m. Friday to kick off Pridefest.

Bloomington’s 6th annual Black y Brown Arts Festival

This festival at Switchyard Park showcases visual and performing arts by artists of color. The arts market runs from 10 a.m. to noon, and the stage performances go from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The stage lineup includes IU’s African American Dance Company, Matixando and Peyton Womock.

A market will feature artists of color from a variety of artistic disciplines, including painting, photography, candles and jewelry.

Ellettsville’s Monroe County Fall Festival

The festival continues from 5-10 p.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at South Park Street in Ellettsville, by Marci Jane Lewis Park.

There are two stages with live music, about 40 craft vendors and 15 food vendors. There is also a flea market.

A parade starts at 10 a.m. Saturday featuring the festival queen. Attendees can also ride a mechanical bull, participate in axe throwing and play miniature golf.
