Officers escort Richard Allen out of the Carroll County courthouse following a hearing, Nov. 22, 2022, in Delphi, Indiana.

More than seven years after two teen girls were found dead in Delphi, the man accused of their murders will stand trial.

Jury selection began Monday for Richard Allen’s trial in Carroll County.

The 52-year-old is charged with two counts of murder and two counts of murder with intent to kidnap 13-year-old Abigail “Abby” Williams and 14-year-old Liberty “Libby” German.

Allen, who lives and works in Delphi, was arrested two years ago. If convicted, he could face up to 130 years in prison.

There will be 12 jurors and four alternates  selected from Allen County. The county is about two hours away from Delphi.

The court sent questionnaires to 600 potential jurors,  WTHR reported. Jurors will go to Carroll County and sequester for what is estimated to be a month-long trial.

Opening statements are scheduled for Friday.
