Potential for rain ahead of trick-or-treating in Bloomington

Consider bringing a rain jacket or umbrella if you’re going trick-or-treating this year.

Bloomington will see rain beginning Wednesday night. The rain is expected to continue through Thursday afternoon, according to Jason Puma, meteorologist at the National Weather Service.

As of Wednesday morning, there’s a 50 percent chance of rain between 5 and 8 p.m. tomorrow. Temperatures will be in the 60s and drop to the 50s by the end of trick or treating.

Puma said there could be some wind as well on Halloween night.

The city’s official trick-or-treat hours are 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. — rain or shine.

As with every Halloween, drivers should reduce their speed in neighborhoods and be alert for children entering the road unexpectedly.

For people wearing a costume mask, the FDA recommends opting for makeup or a hat that won’t obstruct your vision.
