Just after 7 Thursday morning, police responded to a call about a man who had shot himself in the head at 10th Street and Eagleson.

Emergency services barricaded the scene and brought the man to IU Hospital, according to publicly available dialogue on the police radio scanner.

The radio dialogue also indicated that a black Dodge Ram was removed from the scene as evidence.

IUPD public information officer Hannah Skibba said in a statement that an initial investigation found the man had no affiliation with IU and fired just one shot. She did not release further details.
