For the first time in Indiana University’s magical football season, the Hoosiers found themselves in a tight game late in the fourth quarter Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

Ahead by two points with 5:20 remaining, eighth-ranked IU went on to defeat Michigan, 20-15, to improve its record to 10-0.

“A lot of championship teams have those ugly hard-fought wins, and I think that’s what we did today,” IU linebacker Aiden Fisher said. “We had a great opponent who came in here, a physical one, and I think that speaks to how you handle adversity.”

The Hoosiers have a bye next week followed by what should be the toughest game of the regular season, Nov. 23 at third-ranked Ohio State.

On Saturday, quarterback Kurtis Rourke threw for two touchdowns and 206 yards.

IU’s offense was uncharacteristically feeble for much of the second half, with only 18 yards compared to 238 in the first half.
