The Bloomington Family Planning Center still needs a few more resources before it can officially open its new office at 639 S. Walker St., Suite A.
Kristin Adams, president and CEO of Indiana Family Planning Centers, said the office still needs internet and phone systems. She also said the center is staffed and will be ready to serve the community soon.
“We provide reproductive healthcare, we provide contraceptive access, we provide preconception care,” she said. She added the center does STD and STI testing and treatment.”
She said the center will also provide pregnancy resources, including tests for infections that could harm a fetus.
“We can provide these items prior to pregnancy to make sure you’re healthy and you’re physically ready for a pregnancy,” she said.
The center will operate on a sliding fee scale based on patient income to help those facing financial hardship.
The mobile health clinic has been serving Bloomington residents since the closure of Futures Clinic. The mobile health clinic will still be available until the office opens for business. Adams said you can check when the mobile clinic is in town by going to the organization’s Facebook page.
