A second person has been charged with a felony related to the shooting of an Orange County Deputy Sheriff on January 3.

Police say James Adams, 37, of Commiskey helped the shooter, Austin Schepers, go from an apartment in New Albany to Louisville after Schepers shot Deputy Sheriff Zac Andry multiple times. Andry remains sedated but is making ‘great strides’ toward breathing on his own, police said Friday.

Police found Schepers two days after the shooting and killed him in an exchange of gunfire.

Adams is charged with Assisting a Criminal, a felony. A New Albany woman was previously arrested on the same charge.
