WFIU/WTIU News to air Indiana State of the State Address

Governor Mike Braun’s first State of the State Address will air live on WFIU Jan. 29, 2025, at 7 p.m. EST.

The address, expected to run approximately 30 minutes, marks a significant moment as the newly elected governor outlines his vision and priorities for Indiana.

The adress will also be aired on WTIU at 11 p.m., with online streaming available on indianapublicmedia.org.

This is Governor Mike Braun’s first address to a joint session of the Indiana General Assembly, just two weeks after he was sworn into office.

The Republican will discuss his agenda for the 2025 session, including his plan to significantly reduce property taxes — a plan that would save homeowners more than a billion dollars a year, while costing schools more than half a billion in funding. There aren’t likely to be any surprises in Braun’s speech — he’s discussed his agenda and budget proposal often in the last several weeks. His address will likely focus on making the case to lawmakers on why his plans are the right way forward.

The address will take place in front of a joint session of the Indiana General Assembly in the House of Representatives chamber at the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
