IU Med School won't explain why it canceled LGBTQ+ conference

The Indiana University School of Medicine is not explaining why it canceled an annual conference scheduled for April on LGBTQ+ health.

The Indianapolis Business Journal, which first reported the story, said IU’s website originally attributed the cancellation to "emerging circumstances.” IU later changed the web page to say simply that the conference was canceled.

Chris Geidner, who runs the Law Dork blog, was invited to be a speaker at the conference.

“Of course, we all know what happened," he wrote. "Donald Trump is president, and he is empowering his people to disempower anyone not like him.”

The IU School of Medicine did not immediately respond to a request by WFIU News to explain what happened.
