“Our condolences go out to the family of Mr. Terrell, the Monroe County Fire Protection District and the other area fire departments that are (affected) by this tragedy,” the sheriff’s office said in an emailed statement.

The statement said that investigators suspected slick road conditions led to the vehicle traveling off the roadway and into the woods.

It said investigators found Terrell’s vehicle near the intersection of SR 446 and Dutch Ridge Road, north of Bedford.
