Marty Pollio will be the new Ivy Tech Community College president.
He starts July 1. Pollio succeeds current President Sue Ellspermann. After leaving his role as superintendent of Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville, Kentucky, Pollio will be Ivy Tech's 10th president.
Ellspermann will retire at the end of her contract in June. She led Ivy Tech for nearly a decade.

“Ivy Tech is doing great things in Indiana,” Pollio said. “I’m honored to be joining such a strong institution, and I’m ready to continue building more value for students and communities across the state.”
Pollio worked for Jefferson County schools for 30 years and announced his retirement last fall. He said he wanted to remain a "champion for public education,” according to the district's press release.
Ivy Tech selected Pollio for “his passion for students and experience creating results around workforce readiness and academic excellence,” the college said.
“Marty Pollio is a results-driven, dynamic leader with immense heart and passion for students,” said Andrew Wilson, Chairman of the Ivy Tech State Board of Trustees.
