A jury in Sullivan County on Wednesday convicted William Grimes for the murder of 85-year-old Lowell Badger. Grimes was found guilty on all counts of murder, burglary and conspiracy to commit a burglary.

Badger, a retired farmer, was found fatally shot on Dec. 8, 2012, following a burglary at his rural Sullivan County home.

Grimes was previously serving a sentence at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility.

Grimes’ brother Arthur Grimes and Richard Taft are also suspects in the case. Grimes was arrested in April, and Taft last August.

WTHI reported that Taft testified against Grimes Monday. He told the court that the three were present during the robbery, but it was Grimes that shot Badger.

Sentencing for Grimes is scheduled for 1 p.m. June 13.
