Employees at Cummins in Columbus are deciding whether to continue working under their current contract.

The Diesel Workers Union was overseeing a strike authorization vote Friday at its union hall in Columbus. It started early Thursday and ends Friday at 7 p.m.

Cummins and union officials didn’t immediately respond to messages.

Last summer, the engine manufacturer announced it was laying off workers.
