Spring is in the air to be sure with this concert when we will feature the lovely "Pavane" by Faure suggesting the idyllic nature of spring. The rousing "Russian Easter Overture" by Rimsky-Korsakov gives the entire orchestra a chance to shine. It’s not hard to imagine the children of Vienna playing outside in the warm spring weather while listening to Josef Strauss’ “Wiener Kinder Waltz.”
The students of the Laura Andrews Strings Studio will join CSO musicians on the stage to play the Overture to “The Barber of Seville” by Rossini, as well as accompanying their concertmaster Gabe Boggs as he plays the first movement of Vivaldi’s “Violin Concerto in A Minor.”
