This community-focused broadcast brings together local writers, literary thinkers, and readers of all ages for a lively conversation about the stories that shape us. With our host Bob Zaltsberg, our panelists will discuss books for all ages, from children’s books to adult thrillers. Find out what titles have been popular in 2025, our panel’s favorites, book trends, and gift ideas!

About the Episode

We return to Darrowby in May 1945 to find Skeldale House in a moment of transition. As victory in Europe is declared and the world begins to breathe again, James balances a demanding veterinary practice with family life and an especially challenging Siegfried. Helen is managing big changes at Heston Grange while enjoying time with young Jimmy and Rosie. Tristan, back from years at war, must find his footing at home once more. Meanwhile, Mrs. Hall works tirelessly to bring the household together and restore harmony.

This heartfelt opening chapter sets the tone for a season filled with renewal, reconnection, and hope for brighter days ahead.

Season 6 premieres Sunday, January 11 at 9pm on WTIU.

Fans can rejoice—MASTERPIECE has officially renewed All Creatures Great and Small for Seasons 7 and 8. The beloved series will continue with two additional seasons, each featuring six episodes plus a Christmas Special, bringing even more stories from the Yorkshire Dales to look forward to.
