Indiana University will celebrate its eighth annual IU Day on Wednesday, April 17.

This IU Day, consider a contribution to the Radio and Television Services Local News Endowment. This fund specifically supports Indiana Public Media's local and regional news department, helping to fund critical news programming for our community.

Together WFIU and WTIU serve 43 counties throughout south central Indiana, reaching almost 600,000 households and offering the only regional news coverage accessible without a paywall for the citizens of more than a dozen of these counties. Our newsroom’s dedicated team of reporters, editors, producers, engineers, and hosts make this possible. Your support makes it possible, too.

Thanks to a generous contribution from a local family, all contributions to the Local News Endowment will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000. This is an excellent opportunity to have your gift go even further to strengthen the local news coverage you depend on from WTIU, WFIU, and online at Indiana Public Media.

The match comes to the stations from individuals who understand how vital local news is at this moment – and how much we’ll need it in the future. Join them with your gift on IU Day and double your impact through this generous match!

Your giving matters

“An informed public is essential for a healthy democracy. As local newspapers struggle to survive, WFIU and WTIU news programs that provide balanced coverage on a wide range of local topics become even more essential. We think of our gift to the WFIU/WTIU News Endowment Fund as an investment to help ensure the future of local news coverage.”
