Stan Getz And Jimmy Rowles' "The Peacocks"

Tenor saxophonist Stan Getz and pianist-singer Jimmy Rowles teamed up in 1977 at the height of the fusion era to produce a straighahead classic. The Peacocks, as critic Dan Morgenstern observes in his liner notes, puts Rowles in all sorts of contexts: as a solo pianist, a vocalist, a small-group accompanist, a composer (the lovely title track was written by him) and as a duet partner with Getz.

We'll also hear music from Chet Baker, Tony Bennett, and Nat King Cole.
