Checking in at the Art Hospital

Often the biggest step an artist can take is moving from hobby to vocation. Josephine McRobbie tells the story of one artist, Mark Rice, and his transition.

Rice is a musician in the groups Magnolia Electric Company, The Impossible Shapes, and the Coke Dares, and a painter.

Bloomington, Indiana's Art Hospitalwill be moving to smaller space in August. The new location will continue to feature art exhibitions and will house nine artist studios. And in October, visit Indianapolis's Big Car Gallery as they showcase the work of the Art Hospital staff.
