Japan Benefit Concert Monday at MAC

The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music is holding a substantial concert Monday, April 18, at 8 p.m., to benefit those affected by the 9.0 earthquake in Japan last month. The concert will be at the Musical Art Center, 101 N. Jordan Ave. on the IU campus.

Thirty-three classical and jazz musicians, many of them Jacobs faculty members, are expected to take part, including Andre Watts, Arnaldo Cohen, Jaime Laredo and Sharon Robinson, Carol Vaness, Edward Auer, Emile Nauomoff, Marietta Simpson, and Jeff Nelsen.

Tickets are $20 for the general public, $10 for students, and are available at the MAC box office. Proceeds will go to the Japan Red Cross through the Japan-America Society of Indiana. Further event and ticketing information is available here.
