A Place For Film At Ebertfest - Discussing Higher Ground

Interview With Carolyn Briggs - Writer Of Higher Ground

In this interview, I sit down with Carolyn Briggs, writer of the film Higher Ground. The film stars Vera Farmiga, who also directs, and the film explores the inner conflict of a woman struggling with her faith. The film follows her from youth to middle age and covers her journey through life focusing on her interactions with the Evangelical Christian church she and her family attend.

In the interview, we talk about Carolyn's perspective of the film, and how she and Vera Farmiga collaborated on the screenplay, which is based on the memoir that Ms. Briggs wrote. We also discuss some of the more interesting scenes in the film.
