A Place For Film: Exploring The Black Film Center Archive

Episode 41: Exploring the Black Film Center Archive With Mary Huelsbeck

On this week's episode, we invite Archivist Mary Huelsbeck from the Black Film Center Archive to discuss the mission and holdings of the BFCA.

It's always fascinating for me to explore all the aspects of the film world at Indiana University, and I'd been looking forward to hearing about the Black Film Center Archive ever since I saw Freedom Riders at the Cinema.  Mary Huelsbeck was nice enough to come by to chat with us about the Archive.

We start out with What Have You Seen Lately, and Jason and Andy have lots to talk about. Hear about how many versions of Casino Royale Andy saw, as well as a couple of movies that surprised Jason.

We also talk extensively about the Black Film Center Archive. Hear all about their mission and holdings, how they acquire their materials, along with some of their exciting upcoming events at the IU Cinema.
