The Most Boring Classical Music Composition, Twice

This music has the dubious honor of being included on a less-than-flattering list.

In both 1954 and 1984 the readers of a well-known classical music magazine were polled about classical music. They were asked to name the top 10 most boring compositions.

Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 "From the New World" is among a handful of compositions that made the list both times, 30 years apart.

For the bonus question. Which of the United States "Big Five" orchestras premiered this work? The Big Five is comprised of the orchestras from Cleveland, Philadelphia; symphony orchestras from Boston and Chicago; and the orchestra that first played this work in 1893, the New York Philharmonic.
