Best Orchestral Performance
In the category of Best Orchestral Performance, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, conducted by Nicholas McGegan received a nomination for this recording of three Haydn symphonies.
Best Opera Recording
In the Best Opera Recording category, Europa Galante and Coro Da Camera Santa Cecilia Di Borgo San Lorenzo conducted by Fabio Biondi was nominated for their recording of Vivaldi’s opera Ercole Sul Termodonte.
Best Small Ensemble Performance
Ensemble El Mundo, led by baroque guitarist Richard Savino received a nomination in Best Small Ensemble Performance for their recording entitled Kingdoms Of Castille.
Best Classical Vocal Solo
Early Music was represented by three recordings in the Best Classical Vocal Solo category.
First, Natalie Dessay with Le Concert D'Astrée was nominated for a recording of Arias from Handel’s Opera Giulio Cesare.
Also, countertenor Andreas Scholl with the orchestra, Accademia Bizantina received a nomination for a recording of the music of Henry Purcell.
Finally, Ian Bostridgewith the English Concert was nominated for his recording, Three Baroque Tenors.
