Held in August 1969, Woodstock Music and Arts Festival attracted more than 400,000 attendees.

Noon Edition airs on Fridays at noon on WFIU.

This year marks the 50 th anniversary of the Woodstock - a four-day celebration of peace, music and love in Bethel, New York.

Held in August 1969, the festival attracted more than 400,000 attendees.

The 1970 documentary film of the same name helped to solidify the festival as an emblem of counterculture and popular music history.

Join us this week for Noon Edition as we revisit Woodstock, talk about its lasting legacy, and how it forever changed live concerts.

You can follow us on Twitter @NoonEdition or join us on the air by calling in at 812-855-0811 or toll-free at 1-877-285-9348. You can also send us questions for the show at news@indianapublicmedia.org .

Our guests:

Marc Allan, former IndyStar music critic

Michael McGerr, Professor, Indiana University Department of History

Alexandra Jackiw, original Woodstock attendee
