Violinist and IU Faculty Member Alexander Kerr

By the time Alexander Kerr became the youngest member of the string faculty at the IU Jacobs School of Music, he had amassed a considerable orchestral and solo career. He has served as concertmaster of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and appeared as a soloist with orchestras throughout Europe and the United States.

As a chamber musician, he has collaborated with such notables as IU alumni Joshua Bell and Edgar Meyer. Most recently he mounted a chamber music tour of Europe with violinist Sarah Chang and members of the Berlin Philharmonic.

He spoke with Peter Jacobi.
