Helen Gibbons is a retired IU business education professor and a sponsor of organizations such as WonderLab, Habitat for Humanity, and Girls, Inc. She has also been honored with the Lifetime Contribution Award from the City of Bloomington. She has been called "one of Monroe County's most valuable resources" and "a model for what women can do to improve our community."
Gibbons was hired to teach business at the university in the 1950s-but only through the School of Education because it was unheard of that a woman would join the School of Business.
