Violinists Nelli Shkolnikova and Leor Maltinsky

Nelli Shkolnikova is an award-winning violinist who has played with such conductors as Ormandy, Kondrashin, and Masur. She defected to the West in 1982, and is now Professor Emeritus at the IU School of Music. Leor Maltinsky was born in Israel, and grew up in Italy and Los Angeles. Leor studied with Nelli, and while under her instruction, won the 1999 Carl Nielsen International Solo Competition. He is now a violinist in the San Francisco Symphony. Join us for a teacher-student interview, as these two great violinists talk shop with host Bob Willard.
