The Indiana Bicentennial Gala

This special edition of Profiles is the third of a four-part series celebrating Indiana’s Bicentennial and funded in part by the Indiana Humanities. In the course of the year the series examines  various facets of the Hoosier experience.

The Indiana Bicentennial Gala program features special guests, performances by Hoosiers, and a celebration of the heritage that makes up the 92 counties in the state.

Highlights include remarks from Indiana Governor Mike Pence and First Lady Karen Pence; remarks from co-chairs of the Indiana Bicentennial Commission Becky Skillman and Lee Hamilton; interviews with attendees about what defines a Hoosier; and performances by singer-songwriter-pianist and Anderson, Indiana native Jon McLaughlin.

This broadcast aired live from eight public radio stations across Indiana on December 12, 2016.
