NPR TV Critic Eric Deggans

I think what we're facing right now is a media industry that is very uncertain about its future. They don't know where their viewers are going or how to hold on to them, especially in network television.

IU alumnus Eric Deggans Deggans came to NPR from the Tampa Bay Times, where he wrote TV reviews, news stories, trend pieces on the media industry, and bylined op-eds. He is a contributor to The New Ethics of Journalism, and author of Race-Baiter: How the Media Wields Dangerous Words to Divide a Nation. He has lectured or taught at Columbia University, Indiana University, and many other colleges.
