A man pardoned by President Trump for his role in the January 6, 2021, riots at the U.S. Capitol was shot and killed by a Jasper County sheriff’s deputy after a traffic stop.

Antony Vo was sentenced to nine months in prison for his role in the capitol insurrection. Instead of reporting to prison in June, he fled to Canada.

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan sentenced her to 14 days of incarceration and 60 hours of community service, stressing she did so because Bissey had celebrated and bragged about her participation in what amounted to an attempted overthrow of the government.

Mississippi Rep. Bennie Thompson, the chairman of the committee, said in a release that “the inquiry includes examination of how various individuals and entities coordinated their activities leading up to the events of January 6.”

Since the riot at the U.S. Capitol, federal agents have arrested more than 600 people across the country believed to have joined in the Jan. 6 insurrection.
