An Indiana resident involved in the January 6 th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol has signed a plea agreement, according to court documents.

Eric Cantrell plead guilty to parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol Building and was sentenced to three months’ probation, 40 hours of community service, and fines totaling $1,500.

According to a statement of facts document, Cantrell was in the Capitol with his cousins on Jan. 6, 2021. Photos and videos posted to James Cantrell’s social media accounts were identified by independent tipsters and given to the FBI.

A deeper investigation identified the Cantrell cousins on CCTV cameras inside the Capitol.

A search warrant to Facebook for the content of Jared Cantrell’s account revealed posts saying “I was one of the first 50 in,” “I was there as an observer,” and “luckily I didn’t remain, was in for a total of 4 minutes.”
