WTIU earns two NATAS Central Great Lakes Emmys

The NATAS Central Great Lakes Chapter presented WTIU with two regional Emmys at its awards ceremony on Saturday, June 17.

The NATAS Central Great Lakes Chapter presented WTIU with two regional Emmys at its awards ceremony on Saturday, June 17.

WTIU’s travel series, Journey Indiana, won one award for best video essayist for a story about memory carvings.

WTIU’s children’s series The Friday Zone also earned an award in the children/youth/teen category for its episode “The Show Must Go On.”

The Central Great Lakes Emmy Awards recognize excellence in television among its members in Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

Previously this year, WTIU and its sister station WFIU have received 16 Society of Professional Journalist Awards from the Indiana Professional Chapter, nine Communicator Awards, three Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, and 10 Telly Awards. With the latest Emmy wins, the stations have earned a combined total of 40 awards this year.
