The National FFA Organization says its conference will stay in Indianapolis through 2031.

The FFA made the announcement Tuesday. While the organization’s headquarters are in Indy, there were concerns its biggest event of the year might outgrow the city.

Kristy Meyer is the Marketing and Communications Manager for the FFA. She says safety, accessibility, and history helped push Indianapolis ahead of Atlanta and other cities.

"Each year that attendance keeps growing," Meyer says. "So we need to make sure we have that space available—whether that’s hotel rooms or at the convention space and other areas.

This year’s convention brought just shy of 70,000 people into the city, who occupied more than 32,000 hotel rooms.

Visit Indy says the event has an estimated economic impact of $40 million.
