Paoli Peaks started making snow over the weekend, but it’s unclear when it will open.
Warm weather is once again making it hard for the resort to get a good snow base.
The ski and snowboarding season in Paoli keeps getting shorter. The resort didn’t open until Dec. 15 last year, and only stayed open for about two months.
General Manager Rick McMullen says that could be the case again this year.
"We do everything we can to try to open during the winter break for all the kids," he says. "This year it’s not looking too great, as we got some warm temps rolling in this weekend."
McMullen says they fired up their snow guns over the weekend and will stockpile as much snow as possible.
"There's not necessarily a set number for when we can fire the guns up," he says. "There's other factors that place into besides temperature, humidity being the largest one."
Paoli Peaks regularly posts information about conditions and whether it will be open on its website and Facebook page.
