Orange County is adding more resources for members of the community who are in need.

Volunteers recently installed their third Blessing Box in the community. This one is near Reflections Flowers in Paoli.

The boxes are filled with packaged foods and supplies. Anyone who needs them can take the items free of charge.

Sarann Weeks decided to create a public food cabinet after working for Throop Elementary school, where she saw a need to feed hungry children.

"Who can worry about passing a test or finishing an assignment when your stomach’s growling?" Weeks says.

At the school, Weeks created Backpacks of Blessings to send food home with the children over the weekend. Now, the new Blessing Box will be able help families put food on the table.

"If you’re a single mom and it’s the end of the month and you have no idea what you’re going to feed your kids that night, it would be nice to grab something, hopefully nutritious, for them to have," Weeks says.

The Blessing Box is volunteer and donation-run. People can drop off donations at the newest Blessing Box location.
