About 8,200 freshmen are moving into on-campus housing at Indiana University Bloomington this week. Another 1,100 returning students will move into apartments contracted by the university.
IU is providing alternate housing after closing two dorms because of ongoing issues with mold.
Lukas Leftwich is the Interim Executive Director of Residential Programs and Services. He says despite more spread out move-in locations, everything is going smoothly.
“It’s actually worked out quite well that we can manage traffic a little bit better,” Leftwhich says.
Leftwich says IU has streamlined how mold issues get reported so that students receive aid faster and have more resources available to them.
