Coroner: Man Killed On Train Tracks Died From Blunt Force Trauma

The Monroe County Coroner's Office has identified a man who died Tuesday night on train tracks on the west side of Bloomington as 25-year-old Kevin D. Magee.

Monroe County Coroner Joani Shields says Magee's preliminary cause of death is blunt force trauma, but the manner of death is still undetermined. Shields says it is unknown why Magee was on the train tracks.

A release from the coroner's office says toxicology testing is being performed and the investigation into Magee's death is ongoing.

Investigators are working to identify a man who died Tuesday night on train tracks on the west side of Bloomington.

It happened at the intersection of West 3 rd and Muller Parkway.

Police say they got a call around 7:30 p.m. of a report of a man struck by a train. Officers who responded learned an eastbound train had hit and killed the unidentified man. 

Police say they don’t know why the man was on the tracks.

CORRECTION: The Monroe County Coroner's Office initially listed Kevin Magee's age as 24. He is 25. This story has been updated to reflect the correction.
