If you don't feel like spending hours in the kitchen cooking a Thanksgiving meal this holiday, some Bloomington restaurants are taking on the job for you.
Here's a list of five local spots that are opening their doors to you and your family on Thursday and adding special twists to the menu.
Szechuan Garden
The Szechuan Garden located on 7th and Walnut is offering cheaper deals and special combinations of their traditionally offered food.
Szechuan Garden staff say duck is a more traditional meal in parts of China and will be on the menu instead of Turkey.
Bobby's Colorado Steakhouse
The steakhouse located on North College Avenue is hosting a traditional Thanksgiving buffet from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Holiday favorites will be included in the buffet including carved turkey, candied yams, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie, and much more.
FARMbloomington
Farm located on the Kirkwood strip is offering meals at 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
A complete turkey dinner with all the fixings will be offered. The meal will be available as vegetarian and gluten free as well.
The restaurant will seat to capacity, up to around 390 people. Everyone who attends leaves with a goodie-bag with a turkey wrap inside, a snack for later.
Taste of India
Taste of India located on Fourth Street will host a traditional Indian buffet from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
Owners of the restaurant are adding new items to the menu in light of the holiday.
Some of those include two new vegetable appetizers, sweet dumplings, tea and an entrée of roasted turkey with an Indian spice.
Chapman's Restaurant
Items on the menu at Chapman's located on East Third Street include turkey, herb roasted pork loin, green beans, pecan pie for dessert and more.
Approximately 400 people are currently signed up to attend the single-priced buffet, but the restaurant is still taking reservations.
Meal prepping begins on Wednesday and the Thanksgiving feast is cooked entirely on Thursday.
