Indiana's Judicial Nominating Commission says 21 attorneys and judges applied to fill Justice Robert Rucker's seat on Indiana's Supreme Court after he retires this spring.
Rucker is stepping down this year after serving on the state's highest court for 18 years.
The commission can recruit and select candidates to fill Rucker's vacancy. It will review applications and decide who to interview.
The first round of interviews for candidates will be March 20-22, with a second round April 17-19. The commission will then vote on the three most qualified names to send to Gov. Holcomb, who will have 60 days to select the next justice.
