Trump Adds Two Indiana Officials To Administration

President Donald Trump has appointed two Indiana state government officials to positions in his administration.

Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Ted McKinney will oversee trade and foreign agriculture issues at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Indiana Personnel Director Brandye Hendrickson will become a deputy administrator with the Federal Highway Administration.

McKinney has led the Indiana State Department of Agriculture since Former Gov. Mike Pence named him to the position in 2014. McKinney's position was created when Congress passed the 2014 U.S. Farm Bill.

Gov. Holcomb appointed Hendrickson as Indiana Personnel Director in January, but she previously served as commissioner of the Indiana Department of Transportation under former Gov. Mike Pence.

The two new appointments come after Trump nominated Indiana state health commissioner Dr. Jerome Adams as surgeon general last month.
