Nearly 20 Charged After Brawl At Sikh Temple In Indiana

An Indiana prosecutor has charged 17 people with disorderly conduct in connection with a brawl at a Sikh temple.

Johnson County Prosecutor Brad Cooper filed the misdemeanor charges on Monday. Another person is expected to be charged related to the April 14 fight at the Gurdwara Sikh Temple in Greenwood.

Two people involved are expected to face an additional charge of battery causing bodily injury.

Roughly 40 people were involved in the fight, which included one man smashing a tea pot over the head of another person.

Officials say a disagreement over temple leadership elections spurred the fighting.
