Monroe County Coroner Joni Shields says the man killed by Sheriff's deputies Tuesday morning sustained four gunshot wounds.
Deputies were serving a drug-related arrest warrant at a mobile home on Tower Road when they say Daniel Boyer, 24, exited the home and pointed a semi-automatic handgun at them. Two deputies fired their weapons.
In a statement, Shields says Boyer was hit four times: once in his right index finger, twice in his left thigh, and a superficial wound to his lower right back.
Shields says toxicology results are pending.
Monroe County Sheriff Brad Swain says it's not yet clear how many total shots were fired. He says Boyer did not fire the gun.
The two deputies have not been identified. One is a senior officer who was training the second, newer deputy. Both were wearing body cameras, but that footage has not been released.
Swain says both deputies are on paid leave during an investigation.
