The Indiana Attorney General’s office estimates it collected nearly 400 pounds of prescription drugs as part of four take back events this week.
The most recent was at a Terre Haute Kroger Friday.
The event allows residents to drop off unwanted or expired prescription drugs to be disposed.
Representatives from the Attorney General’s office say the prescription medicines are destroyed by the Drug Enforcement Administration twice a year.
The Drug Take Back events started last fall as an initiative headed by the Drug Abuse Prevention Task Force to combat the opioid and drug crisis across the state.
