Woman Rescued After Trapped In Wrecked Car For 40 Hours

A woman escaped major injuries after her car went off the road in Bloomington and left her trapped for nearly two days.

It happened Friday just 15 feet from North Kinser Pike.

Police say 69-year-old Evelyn Thrasher became stuck when her car veered off the road, went down an embankment and became wedged between two trees.

Police say Thrasher could not open the car doors .

She honked the horn but no one took notice until a woman living near the accident called police Sunday morning.

Rescuers reached Thrasher 40 hours after the crash. She was hospitalized, but wasn't seriously hurt.
