The Owen County Commissioners are meeting regarding a controversial new ordinance that could make it harder to hold special events on county property at a Monday night meeting in Spencer.
Controversy arose over the ordinance changes when form letters surfaced describing the Spencer Pride Fest as overly sexual and inappropriate for children. The commissioners originally tried to pass them off as a petition from taxpayers concerned about festival costs.
Residents will have a chance to comment on the proposed ordinance during the meeting, if they requested to be put on the agenda beforehand. There are 26 people scheduled to speak.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Owen County Courthouse.
