Activists at Bloomington City Hall are calling for more progress from the city on climate change.
Friday afternoon's event was put together by local environmental organizations, with no official permission from the city.
Beverley Thompson is a sophomore at Indiana University who attended the City Hall sit-in. She is a member of the environmental group, Students For A Green New World.
Thompson says as local activism continues, the relationship between the city is becoming more collaborative.
“It used to be very, like one group was doing something, but now, we’re all doing stuff," she says. "And even though it may not be the same thing for everyone, we all want this climate awareness, we want climate action.”
She says she wants the city to declare a climate emergency.
