Hoosiers Coach Tom Allen Gets Contract Extension

Indiana University Athletics Director Fred Glass announced Head Football Coach Tom Allen was awarded a 7 year contract extension.

The contact is $3.9 million per year, for a total compensation of $27.3 million over 7 years.

“I am humbled and thankful that President McRobbie and Mr. Glass continue to believe in our staff and the winning culture that we are creating," Allen said in a statement released by the university.

"I love our staff and appreciate their tireless efforts as we continue to build this program into a winner, the right way. Thank you to Indiana University, our fans, the Bloomington community and all of Hoosier Nation for their support. I am so appreciative of the young men who represent IU in such a first-class manner,” Allen added.

Allen’s compensation includes $500,000 added to the assistant/strength and conditioning coach’s salary pool.

Allen took over the IU program in 2016, and in 2019 led the Hoosiers to an 8-4 regular season record, its best mark in 26 years.

This season, IU was ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 for the first time since 1994.

IU will learn which post season bowl it will be playing in during an announcement on December 8 th.
