Pilot Program Set To Market Indiana Jobs To College Grads

When Indiana’s college students return to class next semester, they’ll start to see more in-state jobs marketed to them. A program called “Let Indiana Work For You” aims to convert college graduates into highly-skilled workers.

The marketing campaign will be run through the state’s Commission for Higher Education and piloted at campuses including Indiana University, Purdue and Ball State. It will market jobs in the state through things like videos and social media posts that tout the low cost of living and career opportunities for young professionals.

Charlee Beasor is a spokesperson for the Commission for Higher Education. She says the new program is part of their goal to see that 60 percent of Hoosiers have a quality postsecondary degree or credential by 2025.

“So that includes making sure that when students are educated here, that they choose to stay here and that we can count them in that attainment goal,” she says.

The pilot program was mandated by the General Assembly in a package of workforce development efforts last May.
