Who Should Pay The Brown County Music Center's $12,000 Sewer Fee?

The center opened last year, and has hosted several acts in the time since.
The center opened last year, and has hosted several acts in the time since.

Officials from Brown County and the town of Nashville are working to figure out how a sewer hookup bill costing just over $12,000 will be paid. The bill is to connect the new Brown County Music Center to the existing system.

Dax Norton is Nashville’s Municipal Operations Consultant.  He says stakeholders are currently working on a solution and he expects one soon.

"I think we all agree the bill is owed," he says.  "But how can we best work with the music center so it doesn’t have an immediate, one-time, up-front, short term impact?"

The music center’s construction was funded by the county through revenue from the innkeeper’s tax.

The city’s attorney was not immediately available for comment.
