If flower shops are considered non-essential and are relegated to curbside service under Gov. Eric Holcomb’s extended “stay-at-home” order, what about greenhouses?
Multiple question-askers were concerned about large groups of people shopping at Mays Greenhouse on the south side of Bloomington. As of Wednesday, Mays was operating business as usual, with its physical shop open.

Jason Fulton, co-owner of Mays Greenhouse, says he was unaware of the “non-essential” designation because the shop sells more than just ornamentals, including produce plants and landscaping equipment. He says he spoke with a state inspector a couple days ago who said they were OK.
The plan was for Mays to close certain days starting next week, but Fulton says they’ll switch to strictly curbside pickup as soon as possible.
“Well, if that’s the case, then definitely, it’s gonna be curbside service,” he says.
